So I went to Walgreens a couple of weeks ago and of course I went through the polish as usual. A new display caught my eye and when I went over to it I realized it was Wet N Wild! "Are they trying to up their game?" Is the first thing that went through my head. The colors seemed nice and I ended up picking up 3 at $1.99 each just for review purpose. Why not?
Below is the display I saw...
The first color I picked up was "I Need a Refresh-Mint". A couple of things drew me to this color, I initially picked it up because of the similar tone to For Audrey and I wanted to compare it, once I picked it up, I giggled and knew I had to have it because of the name and I obviously need to compare it with China Glaze's Re-fresh Mint.
2 Coats, No Topcoat
Their "new" wide pro brush.
For comparison L-R
Re-fresh Mint, Mermaid's Tears, I Need a Refresh Mint, For Audrey
Top to Bottom, 2 coats, no top coat

To be honest, at that first stroke of the brush against the nail, the polish surprised me in opaque-ness. By the second coat the coverage was completely full and creamy, while that was a good surprise, the bad surprise was the brush. They're obviously trying to go in the direction Sally Hansen did with their Complete Salon Manicure line (which I love btw). And while it's a nice change, the brush was underwhelming. It seems like it was too puffy? Is that the word? It was wide but it wasn't flat, which made me have to apply it extra carefully. For $1.99 though, I think I'd pick these up over Sinful Colors which are usually the same price.

Very pretty! I saw this display at my CVS the other day, and didn't pick any up, I may head back for this one though!
ReplyDeleteNice polishes! From a distance I would have thought it was Sally Hansen's salon formula.
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice mint color!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Rainbowfy Me, and even the brush looks like Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure...
Nice but I'll just stick with For Audrey!
ReplyDeleteMy first one to pick up was also the I Need A Refresh-Mint. I thought it would be a nice background color to Cherry Blossom nail art. I liked it so much, I picked up 6 more. The display didn't have very many in it, so I think they might have been close to selling out. I got mine at Walgreens where you can buy two and get one free. I think that sale goes to the end of February.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the swatches!!
Ooh, this kind of reminds me of Mint Candy Apple from Essie.
ReplyDeleteI think I shall buy this now :3

Thanks,
I just picked up that color as well and I had trouble with the brush as well! it's a gorgeous polish but I really want to tweeze out some of those bristles and make the brush thinner haha
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one who had trouble with it
