China Glaze Carnival Lights vs. OPI Teenage Dream

Okay so for Pink Wednesday I decided to do a comparison. A lovely followed on my facebook page (DandyNails) pointed out that Carnival Lights was a dupe for Teenage Dream (or vice versa since Carnival Lights came out first). Well luckily enough I had JUST gotten Carnival Lights the weekend before but I didn't think to connect it to teenage dream until it was mentioned to me (thank you Hannah), so now I'd like to show them side by side for comparison on alternate nails. You be the judge!

Carnival Lights on Index & Ring
Teenage Dream on Middle & Pinky
They're both packed with hexagon holographic glitter and silver micro glitter, the only difference seems to be that the base is a little darker on Carnival lights, a darker pink, whereas Teenage Dream is definitely lighter, with one coat on the bare nail it almost looked like it was a clear base, once the second coat went on you saw the pink. (I'm wearing 2 coats of each color)

China Glaze CG in the City, Skyscraper, and Midtown Magic (2011 Metro Fall Collection)

For the last post I swatched CG in the City (Purple Glitter), Skyscraper (Silver Glitter on a dark blue base), and Midtown Magic (Multi color glitter/shimmer on a brown base)

First up is CG in the City, this color screams for attention in the bottle, but beware as it is a multi coater glitter. As you can see here my index finger has 1 coat, middle finger has 2, ring has 3, and pinky has 4. This would definitely be a great layering glitter as well.

(Outdoor) Blurred to show sparkle, 3 coats (except pinky with 4 coats)

Next up is Skyscraper, it's a simply stunning silver glitter in a dark blue base,
definitely a starry night. Although this glitter is also sheer, because it has a blue base
instead of clear like CG in the City it's only a 3 coater at most.
(index 1 coat, middle 2, ring 3)

And lastly is Midtown Magic, I LOVE this color!!! Pictures do NOT do this color
justice as it's not photo friendly at all. Because of that I wasn't really interested in this
color until I saw it in person, it's simply GORGEOUS!!

(blurred to show shimmer)

Overall, I simply love this collection, it might just be one of my all time favorites!! Unfortunately I don't know when this is getting released, the only thing I've been able to find everywhere is "Fall 2011", why are they such teases?

China Glaze Concrete Catwalk, Street Chic, Urban Night (2011 Metro Fall Collection)

Okay so part two I've swatched Concrete Catwalk (Dark Gray Creme), Street Chic (Taupe Creme), and Urban Night (Dark Purple Creme)

First off is Concrete Catwalk, I fell in LOVE with this color,
I'm a sucker for grays and this did not dissapoint!

Next up is Street Chic, at first glance it reminded me over You Don't Know Jacques by OPI but it's actually a tad of a different shade, I'll post a comparison soon. Regardless, so pretty!!

And lastly is Urban Night, this was one of the colors I was most looking forward to (along with Concrete Catwalk) since I'm a sucker for purples. Unfortunately it dissapointed me at first. All of the cremes applied nice and thick and barely needed a second application but this seemed really sheer and streaky on the first coat. Fortunately though! The second coat was magically beautiful!
First coat on the ring finger, two coats on thumb (indoors)

China Glaze Westside Warrior, Trendsetter, Brownstone (2011 Metro Fall Collection)

Okay so this weekend I went polish hunting in China Town and I found the Metro Collection!!!! I reached over at the green and I'm like, "Hey I haven't seen this one....Westside Warrior? OMG METRO COLLECTION!!!!!" Yeah that was exactly about how it went. So I got 9 out of the 12 colors. I didn't get City Siren (Creme Red), Loft-y Ambitions (Shimmery Burgundy), and Traffic Jam (Raspberry Creme). I found that I have a lot of colors that are very very similar to those three so I decided not to get them. The rest however....LOVE!!!! I think this is probably my favorite collection (darker cremes are my thing!)

So I've decided to divide this into three posts. I didn't want to absolutely bombard you with tons and tons of pictures of the 9 colors so I figured 3 posts of 3 polishes each was a little easier :)

So for this first post I've swatched Westside Warrior (Khaki Green Creme), Trendsetter (Shimmery Mustard Yellow), and Brownstone (Rusty Orange Brown)

Westside Warrior, a khaki olive green that applied smoothly and fully covered in 2 coats, gorgeous!

Trendsetter, at first this is kind of an ugly color in my opinion, but put it on your nails, it's magic!! So pretty and definitely a trendy fall color!

(1st picture captures true color)

Brownstone, for some reason this is coming out redder than it actually is, it's more of an orangey rusty color, different from anything else I have!

(Indoors, outdoor pictures showing darker but it's a little rustier like this)
