From the Vault Photo Spam

She's alive! It feels like it's been forever and a day since I've blogged (probably because it has) but here I am. I haven't stopped painting my nails and making polish has kind of taken over my life but this post will be some of the manis I've done over the last few months (the ones I've photographed, anyway). It's kind of picture heavy, enjoy!

 The wonderful Jacki at Adventures In Acetone did this look and I fell in love. I didn't have a matte red so I used China Glaze Salsa and Essie's Matte About You over it, followed by white tips dipped in flocking powder from Michaels.

 

 While I never really cared for the look, I just had to try the fuzzy nail look. This was done using flocking powder I got from Michaels.

 

 My first try at a Liquid Sand. OPI Stay the Night.

China Glaze LOL

Today's weather in California was nice and sunny and made me want to bust out with a holo on my nails. My favorite color is purple, in both every day things and nail polish. Mix that with holo? You've got pretty much one of my favorite shades ever. The pictures speak for themselves.

2 coats, no top coat, in direct sunlight.

This is one of those holos you have absolutely no trouble applying, some might be clumpy and/or streaky but this applies perfectly in 2 coats.

 

 This is part of the very coveted OMG collection that was released in 2009 and is now discontinued, unfortunately making this very hard to find. If you're willing to pay the hefty price tag though you can still find them on places like eBay.

China Glaze Hunger Games Video Swatches (Capitol Colours)

This last weekend I got my hands on the new China Glaze collection inspired by "The Hunger Games". The collection is called "Capitol Colours" and it consists of 12 shades, each representing a district. I have done a video swatch in case you're curious as to how any of them apply. What I've been up to...

This is a post to show you guys what I've been up to. I've been throwing myself into the polish making world, following that popular trend right now. I just can't help it, I find it relaxing, like I'm creating some sort of art concoction by just mixing until I get things just right. I've decided to stop just messing around with it and actually start focusing more on "recipes", no more using real polish to mix and create "frankens", I've started only using base, pigments, and glitter, basically making it all my own as much as that could be said. Eventually, I hope to one day be able to maybe sell these in hopes that someone will love them as much as I do, but who knows. For now, they're just my pastime. Here are the polishes I've stirred up lately.

I haven't named any of them yet, that part always stumps me.

This one has a very visible purple shimmer on the nail in person, not so much in photo. 2 coats.

So what do you think? I'm trying to do a variety and not just stick to 1 type. Which is your favorite? Any suggestions?

Minnie Mouse Nails

I don't share all of my YouTube videos on  here as well but every now and then one sticks out and I just have to show you here. I did Minnie Mouse inspired nails that I absolutely fell in love with and for the most part is was quite simple, it consisted of dotting, a little freehand art, and some 3D art.

Polishes I used:

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - White On (Dotting)

Finger Paints - Black Expressionism (Black Ring Finger, Mouse Ears, lashes)

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure & Essie Sand Tropez - (Mouse Face)

Seche Vite Top Coat

I also did some 3D Nail Art on this using a bow mold that can be found on bornprettystore.com. I used liquid monomer and red nail art powder to create the bows along with the mold.
